Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile has dismissed reports of a rift between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun State counterpart, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, the Governor’s spokesperson noted that the narrative does not reflect reality.
“We wish to state clearly that this is not true. In fact, it is the direct opposite of the relationship that exists between the two leaders,” the statement said.
The Aide emphasised that Governor Sanwo-Olu and Prince Abiodun maintain a cordial and brotherly relationship, noting that both governors meet regularly and consult frequently on issues of mutual interest.
The statement added that the close relationship is driven by the shared boundaries between Lagos and Ogun states, as well as common socio-cultural ties that bind the two states.
“The two brother-Governors meet regularly and speak with each other frequently on matters of mutual interest for the development of their respective states,” it stated.
The government also cautioned individuals and platforms allegedly spreading the reports to desist from what it described as attempts to sow discord between the two leaders.
According to the statement, both governors remain united by a common vision of improving the welfare of their people and fostering development in their respective states.
