The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has criticized the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over his claim that he will not secure up to 10 percent of the votes in Rivers State during the 2027 general elections.
Wike had earlier stated at a luncheon in Port Harcourt that Atiku and the ADC would not secure more than 10 percent of the total votes in Rivers State, describing the opposition’s chances as weak.
He also insisted that no opposition party would win the governorship election in 2027 except the candidate backed by his Rainbow Coalition at the state level.
In response, Atiku dismissed the remarks, calling them undemocratic and an attempt to underestimate the political awareness of Rivers voters.
He added that no individual can determine how the people of Rivers State will vote in the next election.
