The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), and the United Arab Emirates have taken fresh steps to strengthen bilateral energy cooperation following a high-level meeting in Abuja.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, visited the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al Shamsi, at the UAE Embassy, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to long-term collaboration in the energy sector.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation across upstream oil and gas investments, gas development and monetisation, crude oil trading, and infrastructure financing.
Ojulari noted that NNPC Ltd., as a commercially driven national energy company, offers a robust portfolio of bankable projects across the value chain, and remains open to strategic partnerships with leading UAE institutions such as Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and National Petroleum Construction Company.
The engagement builds on prior commitments between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as both nations move to translate diplomatic ties into concrete energy investments.
The meeting underscores growing momentum in Nigeria and UAE relations, with both countries positioning energy collaboration as a key pillar for economic growth and sustainability.
