Nigeria has taken a significant step toward transforming its aviation sector, officially receiving its Civil Aviation Master Plan (CAMP) from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) during the opening session of the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium in Marrakesh.
The presentation of the landmark document signals a bold and structured roadmap aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s aviation industry for long-term growth, competitiveness, and resilience.
It outlines strategic priorities that will guide development across the sector over the coming decades. During the event, Nigeria’s representative also participated in a high-level Ministerial Round Table, where discussions focused on the future of aviation talent.
Emphasis was placed on bridging the skills gap within the country’s aviation ecosystem through training, innovation, and workforce development.
The Master Plan is built on globally recognized pillars, including infrastructure modernization and technological advancement.
Key areas of focus include upgrading airport facilities to handle rising passenger and cargo volumes, as well as integrating cutting-edge solutions such as unmanned aerial systems (drones).
With this development, Nigeria positions itself to align with global aviation standards while strengthening its capacity to meet future demands in air transport, safety, and operational efficiency.
