The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has condemned the multiple suicide bombings that rocked Maiduguri on Monday night, describing the coordinated attacks on civilians and government facilities as both shocking and despicable.
In a statement released through the Forum’s chairman and Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the governors characterized the violence as an evil and unacceptable waste of human life.
The Forum called for an immediate and aggressive response from the nation’s security forces, tasking them with decisively degrading the operational capacity of the terrorist cells responsible for such reckless assaults.
Standing in solidarity with the government and people of Borno State, Governor Abdulrazaq conveyed the Forum’s deepest sympathies to the families of the victims.
He emphasized that the NGF remains committed to a unified front with the Federal Government to ensure the total defeat of terrorists operating within any part of the country.
Beyond offering condolences, the governors reassured security operatives of their unwavering support, underscoring that the state executives will continue to provide the necessary resources to bolster operations aimed at permanently ending the menace of insurgency and safeguarding the lives of all Nigerians.
