NGX ASI gains 1.08%, led by financial, industrial stocks

The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a strong note, with the All-Share Index (ASI) rising by 1.08 percent to 146,981.17 points, reflecting renewed investor confidence across key sectors.

Equity market capitalization increased to ₦93.48 trillion, while the Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) market gained 0.46 percent to close at ₦33.35 billion. 

The fixed income market also saw a slight rise, finishing at ₦52.58 trillion.

Top gainers of the day were led by Custodian and Allied Plc, which surged 10 percent to ₦38.50, followed by Linkage Assurance Plc at ₦1.76, also up 10 percent. 

Other notable gainers included Oando Plc (up 9.96 per cent to ₦43.55), National Aviation Handling Company Plc (Nahco Aviance) (up 9.96 per cent to ₦106.55), and Legend Properties Plc (up 9.96 per cent to ₦5.74).

The uniform growth across top-performing equities underscores strong investor appetite in high-performing sectors, particularly financial, industrial, and energy stocks.

Trading activity remained robust as investors positioned themselves ahead of anticipated corporate earnings announcements and potential policy updates, signaling optimism in Nigeria’s capital market.
