In Lagos’ fast-rising Orange Island II district, a new residential masterpiece is redefining luxury living by merging classical grandeur with modern elegance.
Designed by architect Oluwatunde Adegbenro and commissioned in 2024 by a private client, the villa embodies a seamless dialogue between permanence and adaptability.
The structure employs a modern classical vocabulary, featuring Corinthian columns, ornamental balustrades, and a gabled roof that references antiquity. Yet, its interiors embrace contemporary fluidity, light-filled open spaces, cross ventilation, and lagoon-facing views that maximise comfort while honouring tradition.
Conceived around functional zones, the villa includes a generous living and dining space overlooking the water, private bedroom suites layered for comfort and privacy, and a cinema room for family recreation.
Carefully positioned courtyards introduce natural light and extend the sense of openness, while large glazed openings frame striking vistas of the Lagos Lagoon.
Adegbenro described the residence as “a dialogue between permanence and adaptability, classical forms rooted in history, yet adapted to the realities of modern Lagos living.”
The villa is expected to become a future landmark, reflecting the growing appetite for architecture in Nigeria that bridges cultural symbolism with global standards, offering homeowners both elegance and comfort.
