AIG Miller Dantawaye, the new Commanding Officer, Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo has assured the residents of Anambra and Enugu States of the commitment of the Command under his watch to ensure security and peace.
Dantawaye, who gave the assurance following his assumption of duty as the 10th AIG in charge of the Zonal Command, promised to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors.
Chidera Oha, the Police Public Relations Officer Zone 13, in a statement, made available to journalists in Awka on Friday said that Dantawaye succeeded AIG Godwin Eze, who recently retired from the Nigeria Police Force after attaining retirement age.
The AIG also charged officers and personnel in the command to be dedicated, disciplined and committed to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.
He pledged to promote professionalism, discipline, intelligence-led policing, respect for human rights, enhanced collaboration with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders in combating crime across the Zone.
“AIG Dantawaye expresses profound appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for the confidence reposed in him.
“The AIG reassures residents of Anambra and Enugu states of the Zone’s unwavering commitment to sustaining peace, maintaining law and order and strengthening community partnership in line with the vision and strategic agenda of the IGP,” he said.
Born in October 1971 in Ankpa, Kogi State, AIG Dantawaye is an indigene of Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on May 1, 2000, and holds a B.Sc. in International Studies.
AIG Dantawaye has served in numerous strategic operational, investigative and administrative positions, including Divisional Crime Officer, Camp Commandant, Divisional Police Officer, Escort Commander to the Vice President, Escort Commander to the President/Squadron Commander of 24 Police Mobile Force.
He was an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) (Operations) FCT Command, ACP (Field Studies) Police Academy Wudil in Kano, Area Commander in Adamawa and Lagos States, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) in Yobe and Edo States.
He was also a Commissioner of Police (CP) (Information Technology), Kogi Command, Federal Capital Territory Command, and most recently as AIG Federal Operations Force Headquarters, Abuja.
