The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has alerted students and the general public to a fraudulent online message claiming that its Student Loan Registration Portal is open.
The scam message directs applicants to a third-party link (http://gvly.xyz/Nelfund-Student-Loan), which NELFUND has confirmed is unauthorised and fraudulent.
In a statement shared via its X handle on Tuesday, the Fund urged students and the public not to click on the link or provide any personal information, stressing that the official loan registration portal is only accessible through NELFUND’s verified channels.
The agency advised applicants to exercise caution online and report any suspicious links or communications claiming to be from NELFUND.
“Applicants are encouraged to always verify official announcements via NELFUND’s official website and social media channels,” the statement read.
The alert forms part of NELFUND’s ongoing efforts to safeguard students and ensure the integrity of the student loan application process.
