NDLEA arrests Pretty Mike, over 100 others at drug party in Lagos

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested popular Lagos socialite Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, widely known as Pretty Mike, alongside over 100 suspects, during a midnight raid on a drug party in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The sting operation, which took place at Proxy Night Club, 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, was carried out in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, following credible intelligence about an ongoing drug-fueled event at the venue.

In a statement released by the NDLEA, operatives infiltrated the nightclub around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, before disrupting the party at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday in line with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Cartons of illicit substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from the suspects and from the club’s storage area. All arrested individuals, including Pretty Mike, have been taken into custody for screening and further investigation.

Meanwhile, NDLEA officers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) intercepted 70 parcels of cocaine weighing 3.6 kilograms, concealed in containers of cocoa butter body cream and destined for London, United Kingdom.

The discovery was made on October 14, 2025, during cargo screening of items booked on an Air Peace flight. A cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, who presented the consignment, was immediately arrested, leading to a two-week investigation that resulted in the arrest of Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, a female healthcare worker, and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, the Chief Executive Officer of Mutiu Adebiyi & Co Travel Agency.

In separate operations across Nigeria, NDLEA operatives made multiple arrests and drug seizures:

At the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA), Enugu, officers intercepted 103.59 grams of methamphetamine hidden in a tea pack bound for the Philippines, leading to the arrest of a 35-year-old Lesotho national, Lemena Mark.

In Kwara State, Umar Abubakar (40) was caught with 21,950 capsules of Tramadol 250mg hidden inside a 100-litre water heater.

In Taraba State, two suspects, Auwal Musa (26) and Salihu Bala (22), were arrested with 450,000 pills of Tramadol and Exol-5 concealed in a truck carrying building materials.

In Kogi and Nasarawa States, officers seized 162.2kg and 128kg of cannabis (skunk) respectively during highway patrols.

In Lekki, Lagos, NDLEA operatives arrested Oyonumoh Glory Effiong, a mother of two and alleged major distributor of Canadian and California Loud, during a raid that yielded 500 grams of cannabis.

Also, in Ikorodu, officers raided the home of Ogunyabo Adenigbigbe, recovering 275 litres of “skuchies”, a new psychoactive cocktail made from cannabis, opioids, and blackcurrant drink.

In Abia State, a 75-year-old man, Echendu Onuoka, and a 60-year-old woman, Aukana John, were arrested for possession of 4.7kg and 225 grams of cannabis respectively.

At the Seme border area of Lagos, NDLEA agents apprehended Jacob Ojugbele with 55kg of cannabis and Amusa Oluwabukola with 121.3 litres of skuchies.

In Zamfara State, operatives arrested Abubakar Ibrahim (30) along the Gummi–Anka road with an AK-47 rifle and 1,746 rounds of ammunition allegedly destined for Bagega Forest in Anka Local Government Area.

According to the NDLEA, the suspect and the seized weapons have been transferred to appropriate security agencies for further investigation.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations nationwide to dismantle drug syndicates and protect communities from narcotics-related crimes.
