Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 52-year-old businessman, Ejiofor Godwin Emeka, at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano, for ingesting and concealing 127 wraps of cocaine.
According to NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi, Ejiofor, who runs boutiques in Lagos and Onitsha, was apprehended upon arrival from Bangkok, Thailand, via an Ethiopian Airlines flight on October 8, 2025, following credible intelligence.
A body scan revealed that the suspect had ingested illicit drugs and concealed some in his private parts. “A total of 58 wraps of cocaine were immediately recovered from his pants after which he was placed under excretion observation,” Babafemi said.
“During the observation, he excreted 69 additional pellets in seven excretions, bringing the total to 127 wraps, weighing 1.388 kilograms of cocaine.”
In related operations, NDLEA operatives intercepted three consignments of illicit drugs heading to the United Kingdom at courier companies in Lagos. The seizures included 1.74kg of methamphetamine hidden in glass ceramic blocks, pentazocine and tramadol injections, and tramadol capsules concealed in a Vitamin C container.
