The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Danladi Jatau, has appealed to registered APC members to vote for him to win the May 15 primary election.

The speaker made the appeal on Wednesday while addressing party stakeholders, LGA, and ward officials from Karu, Keffi, and Kokona during town hall meetings in their respective LGAs.

Jatau, who is aspiring to be the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, said he was prepared and qualified to represent the area in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.

He noted that he had served in various government capacities and promised quality and sound representation if given the mandate.

“I want to appeal to you to vote for me this Friday, May 15, to enable me win the primary election.

“From what I have seen, your love and support for me, I am confident of winning the Friday contest,” he said.

Jatau said he entered the race to add value and bring faster development to the federal constituency.

“People called on me to contest, and I answered. By God’s grace, I will represent you well if elected,” the speaker assured.

He highlighted his achievements as a member and speaker of the house, including employment, empowerment, education, health, agriculture, water, and infrastructure.

“I have done well for my people as a member and Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.

“I have stabilised and united the house and given the executive arm the needed support and cooperation to succeed.

“I have also made significant contributions in employment, empowerment, health, education, agriculture, water, and support for the poor,” he added.

Jatau appreciated stakeholders and party officials for their continued support and urged them to sustain the tempo.

He also appealed to the people not to insult or retaliate against politicians who insulted him.

“Let us remain focused and play by the rules in the interest of peace,” he appealed.

He called on his constituents to support President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s preferred successor, Sen. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, to succeed in 2027, while commending Gov. Sule for his developmental strides in the state.

To boost party activities, the speaker distributed 32 motorcycles to ward chairmen in Karu, Keffi, and Kokona LGAs.

On their part, the APC chairmen of Kokona, Keffi, and Karu LGAs, Mr Jacob Terry-Bado, Mr Muhammad Awwal-Idirs, and Mutari Samson respectively commended the speaker for his purposeful leadership in the state legislature.

They said he had stabilised the house and urged residents to pray for him and support his ambition to be at the house of representatives.

NAN reports that Jatau also received over 100 Social Democratic Party (SDP) members into the APC.

Earlier, the speaker and his entourage paid homage to Abaga Toni, Mr Lawrence Sylvester-Ayih, the Emir of Keffi, Dr Shehu Usman-Yamusa, and the Esu Karu, Mr Luka Payan-Baba, to seek royal blessings and support.

The first-class traditional rulers prayed for, blessed, and wished Jatau well in his ambition.
