Governor Ademola Adeleke has described his re-election as a victory for Osun State and Nigerian democracy.
Adeleke won 19 of the 30 local government areas in the election, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 11 LGAs.
The governor stated this on Sunday shortly after he was declared the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election by the Returning Officer, Prof. Olalekan Ogunwole, who said Adeleke had satisfied the requirements of the law and was duly returned elected.
According to him, “First of all, I thank God Almighty for what has happened today. It’s a victory for democracy in Nigeria. A victory for Osun people stood by me for what have done in the office, the dividend of democracy in terms of infrastructure, improving education, agriculture, among others.This re-election Osun people saying thank you, mr. Governor.
“My vision is to make sure I move Osun State from civil service state to industrial state, and make sure all got across Osun State in terms of development.
“I want to seize this opportunity to thank Mr President, Mr President has called me and congratulated me and thank you Mr President for making sure democracy live on because you fought for it,” he hailed mr President.
