Moniepoint Microfinance Bank has formally dismissed allegations suggesting it orchestrated the arrest or detention of a customer in retaliation for public criticism.

In an official statement addressing the controversy, the financial institution emphasized its respect for the fundamental right of consumers to voice opinions and highlight concerns regarding its service delivery.

The Bank clarified that the detention referenced in recent media reports stems from an active police investigation into suspected cybercrime activities.

According to the management, these legal proceedings are entirely separate from and unrelated to any feedback or grievances shared by the individual.

Operating strictly within the Nigerian legal framework, Moniepoint maintained that its corporate philosophy is rooted in transparency, fairness, and accountability.

The institution further asserted that it actively encourages open dialogue, viewing customer critiques as a vital tool for organizational improvement rather than a cause for legal confrontation.

As a platform currently trusted by millions of Nigerians, Moniepoint reaffirmed its commitment to upholding professional integrity.

The Bank noted that its primary focus remains on safeguarding the trust of its user base while ensuring that security measures are applied only in the interest of preventing financial crime.
