A fierce transfer battle is unfolding for Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, with AS Monaco, Newcastle United and AC Milan all vying for the Bayer Leverkusen forward’s services this summer.

The 24-year-old Super Eagles international is fast becoming one of Europe’s most sought-after attacking talents, even though he remains under contract with the Bundesliga champions until 2028.

Monaco, buoyed by their return to Champions League football, are leading the French pursuit after already sealing headline signings Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati earlier in the window. The Ligue 1 outfit reportedly see Boniface as the final piece in a potent attack featuring Folarin Balogun and George Ilenikhena.

Across the Channel, Newcastle United are keeping a close eye on developments as they prepare for a possible departure of star striker Alexander Isak, who has attracted attention from Liverpool. The Magpies view Boniface’s strength, movement and finishing ability as key attributes to lead their front line.

AC Milan, who have shown long-standing interest in the Nigerian forward, remain active in the race, while Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr are said to have resumed negotiations after narrowly missing out on him in January.

At the time, Boniface was on the brink of a switch to Saudi Arabia before Leverkusen halted the deal, paving the way for Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán to make the move instead.

Now, with renewed Saudi interest and major European clubs circling, Leverkusen face mounting pressure to retain one of their top assets.

Boniface recorded 8 goals and 2 assists in just 19 Bundesliga appearances last season and has already earned 13 caps for Nigeria. Known for his blend of strength, technical skill and attacking flair, he is widely regarded as one of the most electrifying African forwards currently playing in Europe.
