The family of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), has renewed its call for a transparent and independent investigation into his death and urged two key witnesses — Mr. Tajudeen Olusola David and Mrs. Tajudeen Bosede Blessing to testify in court.
In a statement signed by the family head, Omolayo Aloba, and Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, the family reiterated its earlier demand for a fresh probe and directed the late singer’s partner, Wunmi Adebanjo, to stop using the surname “Aloba” pending the outcome of a court-ordered DNA test.
At a family meeting held in Ikere, Ekiti State, on Sunday, 16th November 2025, members resolved to reach out to the Tajudeens, who were present on the night Mohbad last performed in Ikorodu.
The couple reportedly witnessed the backstage incident involving unidentified boys believed to have confronted Mohbad shortly before his death. They also provided initial statements at the Ikorodu Police Station but have since gone into hiding over alleged threats to their lives.
According to Madam Ojo Dorcas Folusho, a spokesperson for the Tajudden’s, the couple fled the country after repeated intimidation from individuals suspected to be “Marlians.” She said they remain willing to testify if assured of safety.
The family appointed Oladayo Ogungbe, Esq., as its official legal representative for the DNA and estate matters, and confirmed that Dr. Wahab Shittu, SAN, will continue to lead engagements with investigative authorities.
The administrators have been authorised to immediately apply for letters of administration to manage all estate assets, including royalties, properties, and intellectual property.
One administrative slot has been reserved for Wunmi Adebanjo should the DNA result confirm that her son, Liam, is Mohbad’s biological child. The family emphasised that no statutory or traditional marriage existed between Mohbad and Wunmi, as Yoruba bride-price rites were never completed.
The family urged the public to remain calm, noting that the DNA process is solely to ensure legal clarity. A new burial and memorial date will be announced after outstanding legal matters are concluded.
“Justice for Mohbad remains our unwavering goal,” the family stated.
