The Nigerian Police Force has declared Modinat Motunrayo Yahya whose photograph appears above wanted in connection with an alleged Homosexual offence.
Modinat, who is believed to be 29 years of age, is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by a Magistrate Court in Lagos State.
According to the Police reports, She was declared wanted after being caught engaging in same-sex activity with a partner on 29th October 2025, and she has since fled.
The Police stated that the act contravene the cultural and moral standard widely observed in Lagos and runs afoul of Nigerian law.
Same-sex relationship are prohibited under the same-sex marriage, (Prohibition) Act, which came into force in January 2014.
The legislation prescribes a 14 years prison sentence for individuals found guilty of entering into or participate in a same sex union or relationship.
Police spokesperson confirmed that Modinat was last seen in CR-7 Bar & Lounge No 2 Community Road, Jankara ljaiye Lagos State on the 29th of October 2025 at 2000hrs
Last known address: House No 1 Community Road, Jankara Ijaiye, Lagos.
They appealed that anyone with useful information that could assist in her arrest should please report at any nearest police station.
