President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s maritime industry during a working visit by the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, to the State House, Abuja.
The engagement focused on the agency’s performance milestones over the past two years, key operational achievements, and the systemic challenges confronting the nation’s maritime domain.
Mobereola briefed the President on measures underway to modernize maritime administration, enforce regulatory compliance, and bolster safety across Nigerian waterways.
President Tinubu commended NIMASA’s leadership for its steady progress and urged the agency to sustain its reform momentum.
The President reiterated that optimizing the maritime sector remains a cornerstone of his administration’s agenda to diversify the economy, generate employment, and attract sustainable investment.
With the President’s backing, NIMASA is poised to deepen its administrative and safety interventions to make Nigeria’s maritime domain more efficient and globally competitive.
