Pharmaceutical manufacturer, May & Baker Nigeria Plc has disassociated itself from a fraudulent online investment scheme titled “M&B Equity Stake” currently circulating across social media and messaging platforms.
In a regulatory disclosure released through the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), the company warned that unauthorized entities are soliciting funds from members of the public by promising daily and guaranteed returns in the name of May & Baker.
The healthcare company unequivocally dissociated itself, its subsidiaries, and its affiliates from the scheme, declaring that any promotional material, flyer, website, or message soliciting funds under the “M&B Equity Stake” banner is fraudulent and completely unauthorized.
May & Baker further clarified that it is not currently undertaking any Rights Issue, Public Offer, or capital-raising exercise that involves soliciting investments from the general public.
It emphasized that any genuine corporate action or capital raise would be formally communicated through authorized corporate channels and conducted in full compliance with regulatory frameworks set by the NGX and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The company advised shareholders, customers, and the investing public to disregard such solicitations, refrain from disclosing personal or financial information, and report suspicious schemes to law enforcement authorities.
