A 31-year-old resident, Idowu Rasaq, has reported the disappearance of his elder brother, Idowu Sodiq, 35, following an alleged armed attack on their family home in Lagos.

Rasaq said the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. when unidentified gunmen stormed their residence, ransacking the premises while searching for him and his brother.

He alleged that he was physically assaulted during the attack, sustaining multiple head injuries.

According to him, he managed to escape through the back door with the assistance of local vigilantes and was later taken to a nearby clinic for medical treatment.

Rasaq said the attack was not an isolated incident, claiming that the same group had previously harassed and threatened the family.

He added that the latest attack led to the disappearance of his brother, whose whereabouts remain unknown.

He further disclosed that both he and his missing brother were arrested by the police on December 25, 2025, over allegations of suspected drug trafficking but were later released unconditionally.

The Nigeria Police Force confirmed that the case has been officially recorded, noting that officers have visited the scene and commenced investigations.

Police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend those responsible and to determine the whereabouts of the missing victim.
