A young man identified as Ismail Arogundade was tragically killed at approximately 2:00 a.m. on January 1, 2022, along the Ilaro Express Road while returning from a crossover night service.
Scene of a reported attack along Ilaro Express Road.According to reports, the victim and a companion noticed a vehicle trailing them. The attackers eventually forced them to stop, causing a panic. In a desperate attempt to escape, one of the men fled into the nearby bush.
The assailants have been identified as suspected members of the Aiye confraternity. During the confrontation, the attackers targeted two individuals. The intended target, who managed to escape into the brush. Ismail Arogundade, the target’s cousin, who was apprehended and assaulted.
Witnesses claimed that Arogundade was killed using a charm during the violent encounter. Sources have since confirmed that a prior disagreement existed between the suspects and the victims, which is believed to be the motive behind the targeted attack.
