A violent military operation on 9th October 2025 in Ogui Agu Eke, Enugu State, left one man dead and several others injured.
Uchenna was killed during the attack, while Anthony and Tochukwu sustained severe injuries. Tochukwu later died from his wounds.
Homes in the village were also set ablaze, causing mass fear and displacement.
It was gathered that the incident has been happening for about three years.
According to a source, they thought the crisis had ended, which was why they returned home, not knowing it still persisted.
Three years ago, the military reportedly burnt houses and destroyed properties around August 2022.
Prior to the assault, one Augustine Afamefuna Chielu, a suspected local leader of IPOB in Ogui Agu Eke, reportedly fled Nigeria with his family in 2022 to avoid arrest and military action that took place on 6th August 2022.
His residence at 17 Uzoagu Street, Ogui Agu Eke, was destroyed during that attack.
Several other associates affected during the operation included Chukwudi, Okechukwu, and Ikechukwu. They returned home after three years of the military attack that occurred in August 2022.
