The Lagos State College of Nursing has outlined new strategies to boost workforce efficiency and institutional growth following a three-day strategic retreat for its senior and management staff.

The retreat, held in Lagos, brought together top management of the College to review operational priorities and develop practical frameworks aimed at improving performance and service delivery.

Representing the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Mr. Tolani Sule, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Adeniran Kasali, described the retreat as a timely initiative to reposition the College in line with evolving demands in the education and healthcare sectors.

He stressed the need for continuous improvement and adaptability, noting that the exercise would produce Strategic Institutional Objectives (SIOs) to guide the College’s operations going forward adding that the retreat provided a platform for collaboration and open engagement among staff, with outcomes expected to serve as templates for addressing operational challenges.

He also commended the Provost for strengthening institutional management and acknowledged the support of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu toward the development of tertiary education in the state.

In her remarks, the representative of the Governing Council Chairman, Mrs. Kemi Salau, said the retreat was both timely and necessary, urging participants to embrace change as a driver of growth and innovation.

The Provost, Dr. Ayodeji Ogunmuyiwa, said the engagement was designed to promote teamwork, strengthen institutional alignment, and build a more productive work culture expressing optimism that the retreat would further position the College for academic excellence and improved organisational performance.

Participants at the end of the exercise reaffirmed their commitment to implementing strategies developed during the sessions recalling the College earlier organised as a similar retreat for junior staff as part of efforts to promote inclusive capacity development and build a resilient workforce.
