Lagos police command mourns DCP Khan Salihu’s death

‎The Lagos State police command has announced the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Khan Salihu, who until his passing served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration.

‎According to a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, DCP Salihu died on June 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated service to the police command.

‎According to the Command his death was described as a profound shock and a painful loss, noting that the late senior officer was widely respected for his discipline, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to duty.

‎In the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, psc, mnips, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, expressed deep condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased.

‎The Command stated that DCP Salihu served the Force with exceptional loyalty and integrity throughout his distinguished career, adding that his administrative expertise and wealth of experience significantly contributed to the effective management and operational efficiency of the Lagos Command.

‎“DCP Khan Salihu exemplified diligence, exemplary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to duty,” the statement noted.

‎The police further described him as a humble and selfless officer whose service to the nation would remain a source of inspiration to serving personnel praying for strength and comfort for the bereaved family, while also praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul.

‎DCP Salihu will be remembered for his dedication to service, professionalism, and lasting contributions to policing in Lagos State and Nigeria at large, the statement said.
