The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected cult members in the Owode-Ikorodu area for illegal possession of a locally made pistol and six live cartridges.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspects were apprehended during an intelligence-led operation following a credible tip-off.
Investigations revealed their affiliation with a notorious cult group involved in violent crimes and the distribution of illegal firearms across Lagos.
Efforts are underway to track down additional members of the group. The suspects will be prosecuted once investigations are complete.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olohundare Jimoh, reaffirmed the command’s zero-tolerance policy on cultism and called on residents to support police efforts by providing timely information.
