The Lagos State Government has recognised 375 public servants for decades of commitment, resilience, and selfless service across the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
At the 2025 Long Service Merit Awards, the Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, said the recognition was designed to reward loyalty and inspire improved service delivery in the grassroots administration.
In a statement signed by Mr. Wale Musa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, who represented him, Agoro affirmed that staff welfare remains a top priority of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration.
He urged officers to rededicate themselves academically, professionally, and technologically to stay relevant within the public service, stressing that their contributions would not go unnoticed.
Mr. Kamal Baiyewu, Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, praised the awardees for their professionalism and described them as pillars of governance at the grassroots level.
Permanent Secretary of the Office of Local Government Establishments and Training, Mrs. Bibilomo Olushekun, assured that the state would continue to value and reward public service contributions, even beyond retirement.
One of the awardees, Mr. Sylvester Asuku of Mushin Local Government, lauded the recognition, noting that it would serve as further motivation to remain dedicated to the growth of Lagos State.
