The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to repositioning the Lagos State Valuation Office (LASVO) to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to both public and private sectors, aligning with the THEMES Plus Agenda.
Speaking at the opening of a two-day retreat organised for LASVO staff and stakeholders, the Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, expressed appreciation for the Director of LASVO, ESV. Adekunle Awolaja, for his efforts in navigating the challenges faced by the office.
Agoro emphasised that the collective synergy of the LASVO team is crucial in repositioning the office for optimal performance, which will positively impact the state government’s broader goals.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Abosede George, Agoro said the importance of improving LASVO’s services, noting the office’s critical role in asset valuation, property assessment, and advisory services that facilitate economic planning, tax creation, revenue generation, and governance.
In his remarks, Dr. Olajide Abiodun Babatunde, the Special Adviser to the Governor on E-GIS and Planning Matters, commended LASVO’s management and staff for their continued efforts.
He announced upcoming innovations, including the introduction of radio frequency identification and Autophoto technology to enhance land use policy and revenue generation.
The Permanent Secretary of the Lands Bureau, Mr. Kamal Olowosago, also praised the ongoing improvements at LASVO, stressing the need for increased collaboration and synergy among staff to drive greater success.
LASVO Director ESV. Adekunle Awolaja thanked Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for approving the retreat and urged participants to update their knowledge and acquire new skills.
Awolaja emphasised that the retreat’s main goal was to reposition LASVO to improve service delivery and better support the state’s economic development.
The retreat featured notable keynote speakers, including Mr. Fatai Onafowote, Director-General of the Procurement Agency, and Mr. Orojimi Abiodun, Director of Budget.
