The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), in collaboration with AXA Mansard, on Tuesday launched the Smart Teens Advocacy Initiative (STAI) booklet to equip teenagers and young adults with practical knowledge on personal safety and protection against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).
The booklet was unveiled at the AXA Mansard Head Office in Victoria Island, Lagos, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, against the backdrop of growing concerns over the social pressures, digital exposure, and shifting boundaries confronting young people.
Designed as a practical guide, the STAI booklet focuses on safety, respect, personal rights, healthy relationships, and protection from abuse.
It also addresses critical issues including consent, identity, peer influence, social media use, and personal boundaries, aiming to help young people navigate modern-day challenges and make informed decisions.
Students from Falomo Senior Secondary School and Ireti Senior Grammar School attended the launch, alongside staff members from both organizations.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of AXA Mansard Health Limited, Mr. Tope Adeniyi, stressed the importance of equipping youngsters with the knowledge and tools required to stay safe in an increasingly complex environment.
The Executive Secretary of DSVA, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, also underscored the need for sustained advocacy and education in safeguarding children and young adults from abuse and violence.
According to the organizers, the initiative reflects an ongoing partnership between the DSVA and AXA Mansard to strengthen child protection and prevent Sexual and Gender-Based Violence across Lagos State.
This initiative is expected to further deepen awareness and reinforce preventive measures aimed at creating safer environments for children and young people in the state.
