The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its readiness for the 2027 presidential election campaign, saying it has strengthened its grassroots structures across the state to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The state party chairman Cornelius Ojelabi made this known in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Ayaba Omobola Nowoola-Akingbehin, on Thursday.

According to the statement, the party has commenced preparations to ensure that its structures across the state are fully activated ahead of the election.

It said the party’s grassroots mobilisation had been strengthened through ward meetings, stakeholder engagements and consultations across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas of Lagos.

The statement noted that women groups, youths, market associations, community leaders, artisans and other stakeholders had also been engaged as part of efforts to deepen the party’s connection with residents.

“Lagos stands ready and well equipped for the task of providing the necessary grassroots mobilisation and electoral strength for the victory of the party in the elections,” the statement said.

The party said its campaign would focus on taking the message of the APC directly to residents at the ward, community and polling-unit levels.

“The task is straightforward: take the message to the people. Every ward, every Local Government Area, every community, and every polling unit will be engaged,” it stated.

The Lagos APC also highlighted some of the infrastructure projects of the state government, including the operational Blue Line and Red Line rail projects, road construction and rehabilitation, urban renewal and human capital development.

According to the party, these projects would provide a basis for its campaign message in Lagos, where it intends to showcase what it described as the achievements of APC-led governance.

At the federal level, the party defended the policies of the Tinubu administration, citing the removal of fuel subsidy, foreign exchange reforms and fiscal restructuring as part of measures aimed at repositioning the economy.

It also listed major infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, the Lagos-Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode corridor and several proposed or ongoing superhighway projects across the country.

The APC said the projects were designed to improve connectivity, support economic activities and promote development across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

It added that the administration was also focused on attracting investment, creating jobs and improving access to education, healthcare and other social services.

The statement described the 2027 election as an opportunity for the APC to present its record to Nigerians and make a case for continuity.

“The objective is not merely to campaign, but to connect governance with the people and translate political organisation into electoral strength,” the party said.

The Lagos APC expressed confidence that its grassroots structure and mobilisation machinery would help the party secure victory for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Concluding the statement, the party declared: “From Lagos, we are ready. The foundation is firm. The structure is standing. The campaign has begun. The mobilisation has begun. The engagement has begun.”

“The journey to victory has begun. Lagos APC is ready,” it added.
