The Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KWSPHCDA) is moving to solidify its collaboration with Supervisory Councillors for Health across the state to enhance grassroots healthcare delivery.

The move emphasizes the critical role of local governance in supporting the Primary Health Centre (PHC), which the agency recognizes as the essential entry point of healthcare.

The Executive Secretary of KWSPHCDA, Prof. Nusirat Elelu, made this known during a recent meeting with the Supervisory Councillors.

She stressed the crucial need for stronger synergy between the agency and the local officials in areas like community mobilization, awareness creation, monitoring, and the effective supervision of health workers.

Prof. Elelu reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s vision of prioritizing the health sector to provide accessible and quality healthcare for all Kwara residents.

She highlighted the administration’s unprecedented strides in the health sector, noting the substantial investments made in health infrastructure, human resources, and innovative programmes designed to reposition the primary healthcare system.

Calling on the Councillors to offer their full cooperation in sustaining these gains, Elelu pledged that the KWSPHCDA would continue to strengthen its activities and support the government’s agenda through collaboration with the local councils.

Speaking on behalf of the Supervisory Councillors, Hon. Funke Iyabo Owolabi from Ifelodun Local Government Area assured the agency of their complete readiness to cooperate.

“We are proud to associate ourselves with the transformative vision of the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq,” Owolabi stated.

“We will give our undivided loyalty and commitment to ensure that the reforms in the health sector reach every community. This administration has raised the standard of governance and we are determined to play our part in sustaining this legacy.”
