The Kwara State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has announced Engineer Sulyman Bolakale Kawu as its consensus candidate for the 2027 state gubernatorial election.
This was made known in a statement released to journalists in Ilorin by the party’s leader and President of the 8th National Assembly, Dr. Bukola Saraki.
According to him, “I am pleased to announce that, after extensive consultations with stakeholders of the PDP and our leading gubernatorial aspirants, we have arrived at a consensus candidate in the person of Engr. Kale Kawu to fly the flag of our party.”
Saraki commended the other aspirants who, in the supreme interest of the party and state, graciously stepped down to support the consensus candidate.
He stated that the party is prepared for the upcoming gubernatorial election and charged members and stakeholders, in the spirit of unity and selflessness, to lead the party to victory.
The former Kwara State Governor further enjoined members, delegates, and teeming supporters to turn out en masse, peacefully and orderly, for the party’s gubernatorial primaries.
