In commemoration of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day, the Kwara State Government has declared Monday as a work-free day to celebrate the vital roles teachers play in society.
This was made known in a statement issued to journalists in Ilorin by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Government House, Mashood Abdulrafiu Agboola, who stated that the governor gave the approval to join the rest of the world in the celebrations.
According to him, “Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved Monday as a work-free day for teachers to commemorate World Teachers’ Day and to appreciate their role in building future generations.”
AbdulRazaq extended his best wishes to teachers across the state, whose contributions to human capital development are acknowledged at all times.
He commended teachers for their efforts and resilience in molding and preparing the nation’s future leaders through their noble profession.
He reassures them of the administration’s commitment to the welfare of teachers and all Kwarans.
World Teachers’ Day is celebrated globally to appreciate and commend the important roles teachers play in society. The annual celebration also provides opportunities for state governments to announce various forms of support and welfare packages to encourage teachers in their jobs.
