The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has boasted that Senator Ireti Kingibe will not secure a second term to represent the FCT in 2027.
During a media chat with journalists in Abuja on Monday, the Minister cited a lack of measurable impact and poor public service delivery as the primary reasons for his stance.
Responding to previous claims by the Senator that she had unsuccessfully attempted to reach him for collaboration, Wike remained blunt, asserting that he does not even possess her phone number.
He challenged the lawmaker to present a report card of her achievements since taking office, suggesting that her tenure has lacked the visible projects necessary to earn a reelection.
The Minister emphasized that his own administration is focused on tangible development, particularly within satellite towns and rural communities, and that political partnership must be earned through performance rather than proximity.
Wike further clarified that while he is not interested in personal animosity, he refuses to pretend that a productive working relationship exists where there is no shared commitment to results.
He argued that the role of a senator requires more than just holding the title; it demands a record of service that residents can see and feel.
