The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has expressed the legislature’s full support for laws aimed at expanding vocational and technical education opportunities for young people in the state.

Speaking through his Special Adviser on Legislative Matters, Alhaji Abdullahi Alfa, during a conference organised by the Kano State Ministry of Education, the Speaker commended the initiative as a vital response to the growing concerns of youth unemployment and social unrest.

“It is disheartening that many of our youths, who should be drivers of innovation and productivity, remain idle,” Falgore said.

In a statement released on Sunday by his official spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, Falgore reaffirmed the Assembly’s readiness to enact enabling legislation to support initiatives introduced by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, particularly those designed to enhance technical and vocational training for the youth.

He pledged that the House would continue to align itself with policies focused on education, skills development, and job creation, describing the governor’s reforms in the education sector as “timely and commendable.”

“We thank Almighty Allah for His Excellency’s bold steps in widening access to quality education and employment for our children,” the Speaker added.

Falgore also called on development partners, civil society organisations, and government ministries to strengthen collaboration with the legislature in promoting youth-focused programmes.

“Our doors remain open to all who are committed to taking Kano State to greater heights,” he stated.
