The Jigawa State Police Command has successfully apprehended twelve suspected members of a notorious armed robbery syndicate believed to be terrorizing Hadejia and its surrounding communities.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Superintendent of Police Lawan Shiisu Adam, disclosed this breakthrough in an official statement issued on Monday.
According to the police spokesperson, the suspects were apprehended following a reliable tip-off received by operatives attached to the ‘B’ Division in Hadejia.
The arrests were executed during a highly coordinated operation specifically targeting criminal activities within the area.
Extensive investigations have revealed that the apprehended suspects are directly linked to a dangerous criminal gang led by an individual popularly known as “Alin Mai.”
This gang is believed to be responsible for a troubling series of violent crimes, including armed robbery, culpable homicide, cattle rustling, theft, and the receiving of stolen property.
During the successful operation, law enforcement personnel recovered several items, including a Mercedes Benz vehicle, three motorcycles, assorted motorcycle spare parts, master keys, an invoice receipt, a bunch of arrows, hand gloves, a bag of cement, and an MP3 player.
The suspects, along with all the recovered exhibits, have been swiftly transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse for further discrete investigation.
The police command assured the public that upon the completion of this investigation, the suspects will be formally charged to court in strict accordance with the law.
