The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has finalized arrangements to host its 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions, where the official minimum tolerable Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) marks and admission guidelines for the upcoming academic session will be decided.
Scheduled for May 11, 2026, at the Body of Benchers Auditorium in Jabi, Abuja, the meeting serves as the definitive forum for charting the course of the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
The session will be headlined by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, who is expected to unveil key policy directions that will govern the selection process across all Nigerian tertiary institutions.
This gathering brings together a broad spectrum of academic leadership, including Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, Provosts, and Registrars, alongside their respective admission officers. These stakeholders will collaborate with regulatory bodies such as the National Universities Commission (NUC), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) to ensure that the stipulated guidelines are strictly adhered to.
Beyond the technicalities of cutoff marks, the meeting will also feature the 6th edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit Awards (NATAP-M), an initiative designed to reward institutional excellence and promote integrity within the admissions ecosystem.
