Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has called for a comprehensive reforms in the country’s security frameworks.
The party made the call in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, on Saturday in Abuja.
According to APM, community safety requires a decentralised security architecture and modernised intelligence-gathering capabilities.
While expressing deep concern over the state of national security, the party highlighted the loss of lives and mass displacement amid the security challenges currently confronting the country.
Reacting to recent public evaluations of the nation’s security architecture, APM cited the global terrorism index which ranked Nigeria amongst the countries most affected by insecurity.
Highlighting recent mass abductions in Niger, the party noted that criminal networks had continued to exploit structural gaps in security enforcement.
The newsmen report that APM presented Gov. Seyi Makinde as its presidential candidate, maintaining that he possesses a concrete blueprint to resolve the nation’s security crisis if elected president in 2027.
