Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has engageg formal and informal security networks as part of efforts to strengthen the security of lives and property.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke said that security meetings began two days ago to preempt potential security threats.
He stated, “The various meetings started with internal security reviews, followed by further consultations on aligning formal and informal security networks to strengthen the security of lives and property.”
“The governor has met with representatives of local hunters, the Oodua Peoples Congress, the Agbekoyas, and the state security outfit, the Amotekun Service. The interaction and brainstorming sessions built a coalition of informal security structures designed to complement the efforts of formal security organizations.”
“As part of statewide intelligence mapping, the governor has also received informal reports regarding threatened areas, potential hotspots, and vulnerable border locations.”
This afternoon, the formal State Security Council meeting, involving all service commanders, commenced at the Governor’s Office.
According to the Security Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Samuel Ojo, the meeting firmed up preemptive security measures to prevent potential school kidnappings.
“The details of the security strategy are being kept secret. But on behalf of the Governor, I want to assure our people that Osun is safe and secure,” the security adviser stated.
