The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced provisional dates and venues for its passport intervention exercise in the United Kingdom, aimed at assisting Nigerians seeking to obtain new passports, renew existing ones or resolve pending applications.
The exercise follows an earlier announcement on the deployment of a Passport Intervention Team from the NIS Headquarters, Abuja, to the UK, on the directive of the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
According to the Service, the locations, venues and dates were selected after consultations with the Nigerian High Commission and representatives of Nigerian communities in the United Kingdom.
The intervention exercise will take place in London, Manchester, Aberdeen and Cardiff.
In London, the team will attend to applicants at Layali Lounge, Trent Park, Bramley Road, London N14 4UW, from September 17 to 19, 2026.
The Manchester exercise is scheduled to hold at the Nigerian House, 23 Platt Lane, Manchester M14 5NE, from September 19 to 20.
Applicants in Aberdeen will be attended to at the Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road, Aberdeen AB24 4NR, from September 21 to 26, while the Cardiff exercise will take place at Sophia Gardens, Sophia Walk, Cardiff CF11 9XR, within the same period.
The Service urged eligible Nigerians in the listed locations and surrounding areas to take advantage of the exercise.
It said, “Applicants are therefore required to present the following documents at their preferred venue,” including a completed application form, payment slip, appointment slip, self-addressed return envelope and, for renewals, the applicant’s current passport.
The NIS stressed that applicants must apply and make payments through its official Passport Application portal before visiting the designated venues.
It also warned that applicants who arrive with cash “will not be attended to,” emphasising the need to follow the approved payment process.
The Service further clarified that its digital passport application channels, including the Contactless Passport Application System, remain operational. Applicants can also make use of the home delivery service.

The intervention is expected to ease passport-related challenges for Nigerians in the UK while providing applicants with direct access to immigration officials during the scheduled exercise.
