Nollywood actor Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IK Ogbonna, has announced his return to work months after the death of his close friend and colleague, Alexx Ekubo.
Ogbonna announced his return in an Instagram post, saying the period following Ekubo’s death had been difficult.
He added that he had not been fully present as he “processed the loss”.
He wrote: “Since Alexx passed, life has felt different. It’s been a lot to process, and I know I haven’t been fully present.
“I believe, in different ways, we’ve all been trying to find our rhythm again.
“I just want to say thank you for the patience, the understanding, and for holding things down.
“Now it’s time to find our feet again, get focused and get back to work. There’s a lot ahead of us, and I’m ready. Let’s go.”
The announcement marks Ogbonna’s return to professional activities after taking time to mourn the death of Ekubo, with whom he shared a close friendship.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Ekubo died at 40 on May 11 and was buried in his home town Arochukwu, Abia, on June 18.
