The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has reinforced the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to grassroots security collaboration, hosting a high-level delegation from the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The visit, led by PCRC National Chairman, Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, brought together members of the National Executive Committee and representatives from commands across the country, highlighting the committee’s nationwide footprint and influence.
Speaking during the meeting, Olaniyan congratulated the IGP on his appointment and reaffirmed the PCRC’s unwavering loyalty to the Nigeria Police Force. He praised Disu for consistently recognizing the committee’s vital role in intelligence gathering, community engagement, and crime prevention.
In response, IGP Disu expressed deep appreciation for the PCRC’s continued support, describing the partnership as essential to effective policing in Nigeria. He called on the committee’s leadership to uphold accountability, stressing that PCRC identification must be used strictly for legitimate purposes.
The IGP also urged members to embody discipline and integrity, noting that their conduct directly impacts public trust in both the PCRC and the police institution. The engagement marks a renewed push by the Nigeria Police Force to deepen community-based policing strategies, positioning collaboration with citizens as a cornerstone of national security.
