Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri has assured the people of Bayelsa State that his administration will never betray their trust, reaffirming a commitment to translate their mandate into tangible development, beginning with widespread electricity supply.

Speaking while presiding over the 196th State Executive Council meeting at Government House, Yenagoa, Governor Diri emphasized that securing stable power across the state capital is laying the foundation to attract major investment. 

He declared that Bayelsa is now open for business, noting that the administration will immediately pivot to resolving public water supply in partnership with the World Bank once the electricity rollout consolidates. The Governor also expressed profound appreciation to the elders, youth, and leaders of the Ijaw nation for organizing a successful grand unity reception, stressing that collective solidarity remains vital for regional progress.

The meeting concluded with Governor Diri receiving the “Disability Inclusion” award in recognition of his assent to the state’s Disability Bill and his continued commitment to vulnerable citizens.
