Hon. Sunday Bisi has dismissed reports of his removal as the Osun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), labeling the move by a group of stakeholders an illegal assembly.

The announcement of his removal was led by former Governor Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a move Bisi described as a betrayal and a continuation of past plots to destabilize the party.

Bisi asserted that his tenure remains valid and that the forum led by Oyinlola lacks the legal mandate to alter the party’s elected structure.

He reaffirmed the party’s endorsement of Governor Ademola Adeleke for re-election, despite Adeleke’s recent move to the Accord Party.

Bisi argued that the mainstream PDP membership across local and ward levels remains loyal to his leadership and the decision to support the governor’s second-term bid.

In response, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola maintained that the PDP remains a formidable force in Osun State regardless of the governor’s defection.

While acknowledging that the party would welcome Adeleke back if he chose to return, Oyinlola insisted that the PDP must preserve its own identity and structure.

He stated that the stakeholders’ actions were intended to clarify the party’s status for its members and ensure the PDP does not collapse in the state.
