Nollywood actor and politician, Emeka Ike, has expressed concern over what he described as the exposure of his personal data at the Independent National Electoral Commission, saying the incident left him feeling unsafe and insecure.

Speaking during an interview on News Central Television, a video of which was shared on X on Thursday, the House of Representatives aspirant under the Nigeria Democratic Congress said the alleged data leak raised serious questions about citizens’ safety and data protection in the country.

Ike described the incident as shocking and disturbing, noting that it was the first time he had felt insecure about his personal safety.

According to him, the alleged disclosure of his information reflects political recklessness and an abuse of power. He argued that such actions create the impression that those in authority can access and use citizens’ personal information without consequences.

The actor also confirmed that he has initiated legal action over the matter. He said his lawyer had written to Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as well as INEC, his political party, the Department of State Services and the police.

Ike stated that the letters were intended to formally document the incident and ensure the matter is properly investigated through legal channels.
