Abimbola Fashola, the wife of former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, SAN, has shared insights into how she navigated the intense scrutiny and pervasive rumours that characterized her husband’s tenure in office.
Speaking during a joint interview on the Morayo Afolabi Show on February 3, 2026, the former First Lady addressed long-standing allegations that suggested her husband maintained a secret family in the Magodo area of Lagos.
Rather than allowing the gossip to create friction, Mrs. Fashola emphasized that the strength of their marriage lies in a foundation of transparent communication and spiritual patience.
She recounted first hearing the claims from her own sisters, who reported that the Governor was allegedly seen in Magodo daily.
“I didn’t react impulsively,” she explained, noting that she chose to wait for “direction from the Holy Spirit” before discussing the matter directly with her husband.
