In a shocking breach of security, unreleased music and confidential tour materials belonging to Beyoncé were stolen from a parked vehicle in Atlanta just days before her highly anticipated Cowboy Carter tour stop in the city.
According to Atlanta police, the theft occurred on July 8, when hard drives containing unreleased tracks, exclusive show footage, set lists, and performance plans were stolen from a rented black Jeep Wagoneer used by Beyoncé’s choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue.
The car, parked outside a food hall, was broken into while the pair were inside. When they returned, the rear window had been smashed and two suitcases packed with sensitive creative content and personal belongings were gone.
Among the stolen items were five jump drives containing watermarked and unreleased Beyoncé music, confidential show plans, and performance archives. A laptop, designer clothes, and Apple AirPods were also reported missing.
Authorities say they are actively investigating the case and have issued an arrest warrant, though the suspect’s identity remains undisclosed. Police dusted the car for fingerprints and reportedly recovered “two very light prints.” Tracking data from the missing laptop and AirPods is also being used in the investigation.
So far, it’s unclear whether any of the stolen material has been recovered. Beyoncé’s camp has yet to release an official statement.
The Grammy-winning star is currently on the road for her Cowboy Carter stadium tour, with a four-night stop in Atlanta that wrapped up Monday night. During her third show, husband Jay-Z made a surprise appearance, thrilling fans with an unexpected moment on stage.
Choreographer Christopher Grant, known for his work with Shakira, and dancer Diandre Blue who starred in Beyoncé’s 2024 Super Bowl ad were both integral to the ongoing tour production.
The theft has sent shockwaves through the entertainment world, raising concerns about security breaches and leaks of high-profile artists’ intellectual property.
