Air Peace on Tuesday confirmed delays across several of its domestic routes after heavy rainfall disrupted flight schedules in Lagos.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Mrs Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the airline said the adverse weather conditions affected operations but assured that passenger safety remained paramount.

“We wish to inform you that due to the heavy downpour of rain in Lagos this morning, some flights across our operating networks will be delayed,” the statement read.

The airline added that while weather was beyond its control, efforts were being made to reduce disruptions.

“While weather is beyond our control and safety remains our utmost priority, we appeal for your understanding as we manage the disruptions as best as we can and get you to your destinations safely,” the spokesperson noted.

Air Peace urged passengers seeking updates to contact its customer service team by email or phone. The carrier also emphasised its strong safety record, describing safety as a “core commitment.”

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) had earlier forecasted thunderstorms and rainfall across parts of the country between Monday and Wednesday, warning of possible flash floods in Adamawa, Taraba, and Gombe states.
