The Osun State House of Assembly is preparing to receive Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke for the formal presentation of the state’s 2026 draft budget before the lawmakers on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
The announcement was made during the House plenary session on Tuesday, following the reading of an official communication from the Governor to the Assembly.
The letter, read by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, notified members of the Governor’s readiness to appear before the Assembly to present the government’s financial proposals for the upcoming fiscal year.
Governor Adeleke’s correspondence stated: “I am pleased to inform Mr. Speaker and the distinguished members of the Osun State House of Assembly of my intention to lay the 2026 Draft Estimates of the State before the House on Wednesday, 12th November, 2025, having concluded its preparation, and approved by the State Executive Council.”
He added that the timely presentation is intended “to conform with the extant rules and regulation which stipulate that such Draft Estimates should be presented to the House for approval before the end of the year preceding the commencement of the Budget implementation.”
The presentation will serve as a crucial platform for Governor Adeleke to outline his administration’s key expenditure plans and revenue projections for the 2026 fiscal year.
This event marks a significant step in the state’s fiscal planning, as it initiates the legislative process wherein lawmakers will scrutinize, debate, and eventually approve the financial framework that will guide all government operations and development projects in the coming year.
