Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered the strict enforcement of a 45-day processing timeline for Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to efficient land administration and investment-friendly policies.

In a statement signed by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, it was noted that the 45-day window introduced as part of ongoing land reforms has already recorded significant success.

The Governor reiterated that this policy is a cornerstone of broader efforts to industrialize the state through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangements, ensuring ease of doing business and improved service delivery.

The statement quoted the Governor as saying: “We pioneered the 45-day window for the processing of Certificates of Occupancy, and huge successes have been recorded in this area. I have received calls from clients and residents who have obtained their C-of-O within the stipulated timeframe.”

“I am hereby directing that there should be no slowing down in this implementation drive. While I commend the Ministry of Lands for its work in the land reform sector, I task the management never to lose momentum. The 45-day window must be sustained,” he added.

To ensure accountability, the Governor provided clear channels for reporting bottlenecks.

He stated that any business client experiencing delays should lodge complaints directly with the Office of the Commissioner for Commerce or the Commissioner for Lands.

As a last resort, such complaints can be directed to the Governor’s office.

Governor Adeleke also highlighted that the state government has digitized the tax payment system and deployed technology to create a one-stop shop for investors.

“We upgraded the state investment agency to speed up services for investors and removed bureaucratic bottlenecks in securing business permits. From the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to the Ministry of Lands, a strict timeline is now enforced to attend to entrepreneurs and citizens alike,” the statement concluded.
