Gaduwa, Apo residents experience blackout, as AEDC pledges swift power restoration

Residents of Gaduwa and Apo in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja are experiencing power outage as at Sunday afternoon.

In a notice issued by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), the disruption stems from a technical fault, has impacted customers served by the S24 Gaduwa, S22 Apo, and S23 Gudu Injection Substations.

The affected areas encompass a wide residential and commercial belt, including Kaura and Gaduwa Districts, Adisa Estate, Naval Quarters, Durumi 1, 2, and 3, and the National Assembly Quarters (Zones A & B). Other locations experiencing the blackout include the Catholic Secretariat Area 1, Amina Court Estate, Villa Nova, Cedar Crest, Lafayette Estate, and the Prince Ebeano Super Market vicinity.

The AEDC however confirmed as at the time of filing this report that its technical team is currently on-site working to resolve the fault.

The company noted that power supply will be restored to the affected communities by approximately 3:00 pm on Sunday.

While expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to residents and businesses, the AEDC management urged customers to exercise patience as they work toward a full recovery of the system.
